Today the Authority Board Chairman, Hon. Jack Ranguma, accompanied by a representative of the Board of Directors, Mr. Methuselah Rono, participated in the official launch of the Mau Forest Complex Integrated Conservation and Livelihoods Improvement Programme (MFC-ICLIP) held in Kuresoi North, Nakuru County. The event was graced by H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, EGH, President of the Republic of Kenya, and brought together stakeholders committed to environmental conservation and sustainable livelihoods.
The Mau Forest Complex is a vital source of rivers and biodiversity but has faced significant degradation due to human activity and climate change. The MFC-ICLIP is a ten-year initiative led by the State Department for Environment and Climate Change and aligned with the Presidential Directive to grow 15 billion trees by 2032.
As part of contribution towards environmental sustainability, the Authority donated 1,500 assorted indigenous tree seedlings to support the restoration of the Mau ecosystem. This underscores the Authority’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
