On Thursday 25th June 2026, the Authority hosted the Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives and MSMEs Development, Hon. FCPA Dr. Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya, EGH, accompanied by the Principal Secretary, Mr Patrick Kilemi, State Department of Co-operatives and Commissioner for Co-operatives Mr.David Obonyo during the Authority’s Board and Management Retreat.
The Cabinet Secretary called on the Authority to strengthen its institutional capacity, embrace technology and prepare for the proposed expansion of its regulatory mandate.
He also emphasized the need for stronger supervision, improved complaints resolution and effective implementation of reforms aimed at protecting members’ savings and enhancing the stability of the SACCO sector.
